Jasmine, could you please introduce yourself and your role at the Interior Design Institute?
My name is Jasmine and I bring over eleven years of experience in interior design and the online learning industry. My role is to facilitate our online workshops and manage our social platforms and our course curriculum. I
draw on my extensive experience and knowledge to create and drive change by energizing and influencing students. I am deeply passionate about the world of interiors, living mindfully, and providing wholesome learning experiences.
How long has the Interior Design Institute been offering online courses in interior design?
We have been teaching interior design online since 2006.
Can you provide an overview of the online interior design course offered at the Institute?
We offer an online interior design course that is filled with creativity, design flair, and style. The course consists of 12 modules and 12 assignments, and these are assessed by a dedicated tutor, giving students personal feedback on their understanding of design principles and practices.
Additionally, we offer students enrolled in our course the opportunity to upskill in topics like Sketchup, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Business and Branding, Kitchen and Bathroom Design, Home Staging and Property Styling, Plant Styling and Landscape Design, Commercial Design, and Setting Up Your Own Website.

Are there any prerequisites or prior experience required to join the courses?
We have no prerequisites to join our course and the beauty of our course is that it is self-paced with no specific start dates, so students can join at any time of the year.
How do the online courses at the Interior Design Institute facilitate practical learning experiences?
Learning online is quite different from being there in person, however, through a combination of educational videos, detailed and aesthetically pleasing interior design modules, plus virtual workshops, our course is hands-on and will have students feeling inspired and ready to enter the design industry.
To foster practical skills, our course includes assignments such as creating floor plans, electrical plans, color schemes, mood boards, and flatlays.
Students have the flexibility to complete these assignments either physically or digitally, allowing them to apply their knowledge effectively.
